Tottenham's Premier League squad confirmed as Bryan Gil and Pape Matar Sarr absence explained

Tottenham have confirmed their Premier League squad for the 2022/23 campaign. Following a very busy summer in north London with the club making seven signings, all clubs have had to submit a squad list following the closure of the transfer window.

As ever, each squad must contain no more than 17 non-homegrown players and the rest of the squad, up to a total of 25 players, must be homegrown. In terms of Tottenham's squad for the first part of this season, which comprises of nine homegrown and 14 non-homegrown players, there are no real shocks but only 23 of the 25 available spots have been taken up.

This is because players such as Bryan Gil and Pape Matar Sarr can be registered on the separate Under-21 list that clubs also submit and still be eligible to play in the Premier League. To qualify for this list, players must be born after January 1, 2001, with this season seeing Ryan Sessegnon, Oliver Skipp and Dejan Kulusevski having to be named on the main list as they were born before that date.
