Antonio Conte has revealed his Tottenham squad are suffering with illness ahead of their return to domestic action.

Spurs play Nice in a mid-season friendly on Wednesday night but could be without a number of players due to a fever.

The Italian namechecked Heung-min Son, Oliver Skipp and Djed Spence as those suffering but did hint the issue has impacted a number of players.

“I have to be honest, we have some problems with some players, Sonny, in the last two days, didn’t have a training session because of a fever, the same with Skippy and Spence,” said the Spurs boss.

“I hope to recover Skippy for tomorrow, but today he didn’t train because he has a fever.”

Tottenham are back in Premier League action on Boxing Day with a trip to London rivals Brentford before the visit of Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.

Richarlison is also expected to face a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury while away on World Cup duty with Brazil and there are fears the forward could miss around a month of action.

Harry Kane, however, is aiming to put his penalty heartache behind him by playing for Spurs at Brentford.
