Tottenham player ratings vs Manchester United: Harry Kane sublime as Ivan Perisic comes up clutch

Harry Kane led to Tottenham to a fightback from two down to earn a deserved 2-2 draw with Manchester United in Ryan Mason's first game in charge.

First-half goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford left Spurs facing another dispiriting defeat but they rallied superbly after half-time, and earned a point through Pedro Porro and Heung-min Son.

Dan Kilpatrick was at Tottenham Stadium to rate the Spurs players...

Fraser Forster - 7

Twice made smart saves from Rashford to keep the score down in the first half.

Cristian Romero - 7

Might have closed down Sancho for the opening goal but made a fantastic block to deny the winger a second soon after. Stepped out of defence positively in the second half.

Eric Dier - 5

Easily beaten by Rashford for United's breakaway second goal and somehow headed Ivan Perisic's cross wide from six yards when completely unmarked.

Clement Lenglet - 6

Headed on to the bar in the second half and was solid enough defensively, with both United's goals coming down the other side.

Pedro Porro - 7

Scored with a very tasty finish. Like the rest of this Spurs team, he is more comfortable going forward than defending.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 7

Had more licence to get forward than under Antonio Conte and was positive on the ball and busy without it.

Oliver Skipp - 6

Rashford got away from him too easily to set up Sancho's opening goal but he and Hojbjerg were outnumbered in midfield and he put himself about.

Ivan Perisic - 8

Made an important goal-line clearance and twice forced saves from David De Gea in the first half, but his decision to keep the ball in play directly led to United's second goal. Constantly involved and Dier should have scored from his cross.

Heung-min Son - 7

In the right place for the equaliser, having earlier missed a glorious chance to level after superb work by Kane. Looked energised but still not at his clinical best.

Richarlison - 7

A threat on his preferred left flank but his decision-making was poor and he is clearly lacking confidence in front of goal.

Harry Kane - 8

Some of his build up play was sublime, including the all-important assist for Son. Also involved in the build-up to Porro's strike. Excellent in a deeper role.

Substitutes

Dejan Kulusevski (Richarlison 61') - 7

Fizzed a low effort wide of the far post as Spurs pushed for a leveller and whipped some dangerous crosses towards the back post.

Arnaut Danjuma (Porro 77') - 6

Played wing back and as part of the front three but no chance to make a difference.

Ben Davies (Perisic 77') - 6

Solid in a late showing at left wing-back.

Japhet Tanganga (Son 87') - N/A
