Tottenham player ratings vs Bournemouth: Bentancur the hero, Perisic impact and Sanchez poor

Hugo Lloris

Called into action early on to deny Marcus Tavernier twice but could do nothing about Kieffer Moore's well-taken strike or his header just after the break. He didn't have much to do after that with Spurs pushing on. 6

Davinson Sanchez

He was back in the team on the right of the back three and was all at sea for the opener as he raced across in the hope of cutting the ball out, only to leave Moore in acres of space to net. Not convincing at all and subbed off early in the second half. 4

Clement Lenglet

Starting in the middle of the defence for the first time since his loan switch from Barcelona, the experienced Frenchman didn't win his battle against Dominic Solanke, which led to the opener. Much better after that early blip. 6

Ben Davies

He struggled up against the pace of Marcus Tavernier at times in the first half, including for the first goal. Went close with an effort from distance after the break and crucially scored Spurs' second with a header at the back post. 7

Emerson Royal

Produced a good tackle in the box moments after Bournemouth's opener but had a moment to forget towards the end of the half with his shot on the turn from inside the box sailing over the Steve Fletcher Stand. Had a role to play in Bournemouth's second as he went to win the ball with his foot, and Moore easily powered ahead of him to nod home. 4

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Started again after his recent injury and helped Spurs get back into the contest with a precise pass that set Ryan Sessegnon free to net. Helped control things late on with the visitors pushing. 7

Yves Bissouma

Was applauded by Antonio Conte after winning the ball on the edge of the box in the first half, but his subsequent cross went out of play. Struggled again and didn't take his rare opportunity in the side. 5

Oliver Skipp

Returned to the XI after impressing at home to Newcastle last Sunday but couldn't have the same impact this time. Tested Mark Travers towards the end of the first half before he was hooked at the break. 6

Ryan Sessegnon

Got forward on a couple of occasions but the final action was missing in the first half. Finished well not long after the restart, as his shot found the net via the post. Did ok on the right when he switched sides. 7

Harry Kane

Looked to link up with his fellow teammates throughout, but very few chances came his way, with his first coming after 72 minutes. 6

Son Heung-min

Another frustrating afternoon for last season's Premier League top goalscorer as he offered little in attack to begin with, but he did improve as the game wore on. Struggled with his set-pieces on occasions, although it was his corner that resulted in the winner.. 6

Substitutes

Lucas Moura (Oliver Skipp, 46)

Introduced at the break and caused problems for the visitors with some good runs. 6

Eric Dier (Davinson Sanchez, 58)

Operated on the right of the back three and impressed there as he got forward and put in some inviting balls. 7

Rodrigo Bentancur (Yves Bissouma, 58)

Spurs looked much better in midfield following his introduction as he helped them take control. Netted for the second time this week, and he scored the crucial winner. 8

Ivan Perisic (Emerson Royal, 63)

Had a big say on the game with his quality from set-pieces allowing Davies to nod home in the final 20 minutes. 7

Bryan Gil (Ryan Sessegnon, 84)

On for the final few minutes and showed plenty of energy when Spurs needed it most. 6
