Tottenham player ratings: Harry Kane unplayable, Doherty and Kulusevski superb, Bentancur shines

Hugo Lloris

The Spurs captain didn't have a save to make and barely had to touch the ball, hence being unable to get a higher mark through no fault of his own. Got a clean sheet though. 6

Cristian Romero

Worked hard and defended well against a blunt Everton side, apart from one wild, late tackle on Richarlison. Came off after 52 minutes presumably to protect him after that yellow card. 7

Eric Dier

Headed on to the top of the crossbar from Kane's curling cross early in the second half. Stopped everything that came his way. 8

Ben Davies

Played Sessegnon down the left in the build-up to the opening goal. Defended well down the left-hand side. 7

Matt Doherty

His best game in a Spurs shirt by a mile. Came inside into the centre of the pitch and put Son away for a one-vs-one with a great ball. Then he played an excellent first time pass into the path of Kane for Tottenham's third goal. He grabbed another assist for the striker with a pinpoint flighted ball for him to volley home. 9

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

A workhorse performance in the centre of the pitch, covering plenty of ground and making a nuisance of himself. 7

Rodrigo Bentancur

Spurs look better with him in the side. He's very laid back and composed, occasionally too much so, but he makes things tick and made some crunching tackles. 8

Ryan Sessegnon

Fired in a dangerous low ball that Keane could only power into his own net under pressure from Kane. Showed some good attacking movement, as well as a couple of sloppy moments at the back. However, he picked up an injury right at the end of the half and was replaced by Reguilon. 7

Dejan Kulusevski

Put Son through on goal for Spurs' second and grabbed a second assist with his low ball for Reguilon. Showed some great feet at times and set Son up for a chance as well as Bergwijn when the Dutchman came on. Looking very much at home at Tottenham. 9

Harry Kane

Another one of those games when he's simply unplayable. Involved in the second goal with some good work down the left. Kept dropping deep and causing Everton all kinds of problems. When put through by Doherty on 37 minutes he made no mistake with a low finish to make it four goals in four matches. He then set up Dier with a great cross which the defender headed on to the crossbar. Moments later he volleyed home expertly from Doherty's flighted pass. 10

Son Heung-min

Another strange night for Son. He gave the ball away on the edge of the Everton box for a big early chance and wasted a couple of other good opportunities, including a one-on-one. However, he once again popped up with a goal for the team, squeezing a shot under Pickford and it was his movement that caused the visitors all kinds of problems and that creates the space for Kane to come alive in. 7

Subs

Sergio Reguilon

Coming for the second half, the Spaniard made an instant impact, drilling home Spurs' fourth goal just 41 seconds into the period. Worked hard with less impact after that. 7

Davinson Sanchez

Headed wide from a Reguilon free-kick and slotted into the back line well. 6

Steven Bergwijn

Forced Pickford into a save soon after coming on following a clever run on to Kulusevski's pass. Constantly moving and trying to make things happen. 6
