Tottenham news: Transfer race for Championship star as Christian Eriksen makes top four claim

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Sunday, April 24.

Youngster transfer battle

Tottenham and Leeds United are battling it out to sign Bristol City youngster Alex Scott. That’s according to The Mirror, via Football League World, who claim that both clubs are monitoring a move for the 18-year-old.

It has been a breakthrough season for Scott with the Robins, who has made 36 appearances in the Championship this season with four goals and two assists in attacking midfield.

Jamie Redknapp's top four claim

Former Tottenham player Jamie Redknapp says that Manchester United are no longer in the race for a top four finish this season. It comes after the Red Devils lost to Arsenal on Saturday, pushing them six points behind the Gunners.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "I think you can write off Manchester United, they are right out of the equation. I think it is between Arsenal and Tottenham but I think this is more than just a top four place, it is about the history, there is no love lost between the two teams and it could actually elevate the football club (Arsenal) with their fine future players.

"Getting in that top four is where you want to be in terms of money and everything that goes with it, but it feels a little bit more now because it is between Tottenham and Arsenal."

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I think anyone who's played for Spurs is still a Spurs fan when they leave. So definitely, I hope they get in the Champions League for sure."
