Pedro Porro debut slammed
Antonio Conte handed deadline day signing Pedro Porro his Tottenham debut against Leicester, but it seemed to be a day to forget for the Spaniard.
The Foxes embarrassed Spurs at King Power Stadium on Saturday winning 4-1, with Porro struggling up against Harvey Barnes. Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood, covering the game on Sky Sports, did not hold back on the new signings performance.
"I’m giving the benefit of the doubt because it’s his debut, but Pedro Porro is so bad, it’s unbelievable. His positioning is absolutely disgusting. Barnes and Maddison are destroying him down the left-hand side.
“The boy just wants to run forward, he wants to play as a winger, he’s getting the ball played inside him, he’s going to ground at the wrong time, Harvey Barnes is having a field day out there."
David Raya price tag
Tottenham are one of a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Brentford star David Raya, who could soon depart the Bees with his contract up in 2024. Raya has already rejected two new contract offers from his current club and has previously hinted at his desire to play European football.
The 27-year-old has been one Brentford's best performers this season making a number of crucial saves to help Thomas Frank's side consistently remain in the top half of the Premier League table.
On Saturday, Raya made six saves to help the Bees secure an unlikely point at Emirates Stadium against league leaders Arsenal.
