Tottenham news: Richarlison transfer links and Ivan Perisic's shirt number mystery

Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Thursday, June 2.

Spurs 'interested' in Richarlison

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Everton winger Richarlison this summer. However, they face competition from his signature in the shape of London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

According to the Daily Mail the 25-year-old is a target for all three of the clubs and was also considered by Paris Saint-Germain before Kylian Mbappe signed a new three year deal. Richarlison played a pivotal role in Everton staying up last season, finishing the campaign as their top scorer with 11 goals.

However, it’s believed that the Brazil international is considering a move away from Goodison Park in order to play for a side capable of challenging for trophies. Richarlison is under contract with the Toffees until the summer of 2024, so they’re under no immediate pressure to sell, but they may opt to cash in and use the money to strengthen in other areas.

Why Perisic's shirt number hasn't been announced

Ivan Perisic is holding out for one of his two favourite shirt numbers at Tottenham Hotspur this summer after joining, football.london understands.

The 33-year-old Croatia international signed for Spurs on Tuesday on a two-year deal which will begin after his current contract at Inter Milan ends this summer. Antonio Conte managed the Champions League, Serie A and Bundesliga winner in Italy and the experienced wide man was one of the head coach's first requested targets for Tottenham this summer.

Spurs unveiled Perisic to an excited Spurs fanbase but some of the supporters noticed that there was one thing missing from the announcement - the shirt number that the Croatian will wear when he takes to the pitch for the north London outfit.

Bale’s farewell message after Real departure

Gareth Bale has sent an emotional farewell message to Real Madrid after confirming his exit after nine years in the Spanish capital. The 32-year-old left Tottenham to join the Spanish side in 2013 and has won a host of trophies while there.

The Welshman did return to north London, for a season-long loan spell at Tottenham last season, under Jose Mourinho, before returning back to the Bernabeu. Bale has found great success throughout his time with Madrid, adding another achievement to his collection, with their Champions League victory in the final against Liverpool on Saturday.

However, it hasn't been an easy ride for the winger, who has had to deal with being in and out the team and has faced large criticism from the Spanish media. Despite this, Bale's message, which he posted on Twitter on Wednesday morning, showed his appreciation for the club he has spent just under a decade at.
