Spurs set to compete with Arsenal for Paredes
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to take their rivalry with Arsenal into the transfer market this summer with both north London clubs set to go head-to-head for the services of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes. The midfielder faces an uncertain future in the French capital having fallen down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino.
It is suggested by CalcioMercato that Spurs could potentially be interested in making a move. They are not the only ones who could swoop for his signature, with the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid and AS Roma also noted as admirers.
It is suggested that it could take a bid of €20million (£16million) to tempt PSG into selling the Argentine.

Rooney backs Spurs’ Champions League chances
Former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has suggested that Tottenham’s experience could see them secure a place in the Champions League next term. The north Londoners are currently holding onto fourth and will hope to fight off the challenges from Arsenal, the Red Devils and West Ham.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “They’ve [Arsenal] got a lot of important games coming up and they’re in pole position still but I just think that they have so many young players that it might hurt them and I think Tottenham are a little bit more experienced and that might help Tottenham get over the line.”
