Tottenham news: Nicolo Zaniolo's Spurs audition as Kulusevski highlights his best position

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Saturday, July 30.

Zaniolo's audition

Antonio Conte has been preparing his side for their final pre-season friendly of the summer. The clash comes against Roma, with the Spurs players reunited with Jose Mourinho.

Whilst a strong performance will be the priority for the Italian tactician, he will also get a great opportunity to look at forward Nicolo Zaniolo, who is a player that the Lilywhites are reportedly interested in.

Earlier this year, Zaniolo spoke about links away from the Italian side and his relationship with Mourinho.

"It is pleasing to be the subject of interest from big clubs, as if they think about you, it means you’re good. I train with even more motivation, as I want to prove it’s right that I’ve been linked with these top clubs," he admitted.

Rodon's smart move to France

Joe Rodon looks set to get the regular game time he needs with a season-long loan move to French outfit Rennes. Instead of joining his Tottenham teammates for Saturday's friendly against Roma, the centre-half will instead complete a medical this weekend ahead of his loan deal to Rennes, who are understood to have the option to purchase the player at the end of the campaign for €20million (£16.7million).

It is a much-needed move for the Welshman, especially with the 2022 World Cup on the horizon.

Kulusevski's best position

Spurs forward Dejan Kulusevski has highlighted that operating in the hole is his strongest position, although he also understands that his best results have come on the right wing.

"It’s a very good question, I’ve been thinking about this all my whole life," he said after being asked what he believes his best position is.

"I always thought of me being a No 10, I still think I am, but my best results as a football player have always come being a right winger, so I don’t know! In the future, we will see where I’ll be. Yeah I can probably play wing-back too. It’s football, you want to help a good team, you want to play, enjoy, work hard and have fun."
