'Next van der Vaart' eyed
Spurs are interested in signing Aston Villa's John McGinn this summer.
The midfielder is highly rated, with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp once comparing him to former Spurs player Rafael van der Vaart, according to football.london. "John McGinn has been the most impressive player on the pitch – he’s the man. The finish reminds me of you, Rafa [Rafael van der Vaart]," Redknapp admitted on the opening weekend of the 2019/20 season when Spurs beat Villa 3-1.
And Spurs are now said to be keen on signing the midfielder.
Spurs to to heed Sir Alex 's advice
Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson may be left rather frustrated should Tottenham prove successful in their bid to sign John McGinn.
The former United chief is said to have been keen for the midfielder to join his former side before he went to Villa in 2018. The Old Trafford outfit reportedly made an enquiry in the January transfer window but didn't follow it up.
And if Spurs now sign the midfielder, they'd be heeding the advice of Sir Alex that Manchester United failed to follow.
Dybala stance revealed
Spurs are not considering entering the race to sign Paulo Dybala this summer, it has been repoted.
The Juventus striker is set to leave the Turin club when his contract expires in the summer having regularly been linked with a move to Spurs. But, according to football.london, Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are not currently planning on putting in an offer for the Argentinian.
Tottenham's managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, is said to be undecided about the striker's suitability for Antonio Conte's plans. Paratici was in charge of transfers at Juventus when Spurs enquired about the forward in 2019, and is believed to have wanted to move the striker on.
