Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Saturday, March 26.
Gareth Bale fires response to brutal Real Madrid criticism
Gareth Bale has responded to brutal criticism aimed at him from some sections of the Spanish media after another terrific display for Wales during their World Cup qualifying campaign.
The Real Madrid star netted two stunning strikes on Thursday evening for Wales as they secured a 2-1 victory over Austria. His latest brilliant showing for his country follows a season in which he has borne the brunt of severe criticism in Spain.
After notching 16 goals in all competitions for Spurs while on loan last season, his return to Spain has not gone to plan having only appeared in five matches, scoring just once.
Following his display for Wales, he was the target of brutal articles, with some, in particular, labelling him as a ‘parasite’. Bale has now hit back at the criticism with a strongly-worded statement.
Tottenham to revive Traore interest
Tottenham could revive their interest in signing Adama Traore after Barcelona reportedly submitted a bid for Leeds star Raphinha.
Wolves remained steadfast in their demands for Traore’s services, before finally agreeing on a loan with an option to buy with the Spanish giants. The 26-year-old impressed on his second debut for the club with a typical rampaging performance during a 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid in February.
However, despite a bright start to life at the Nou Camp, Traore has been dropped by Xavi in favour of Ousmane Dembele, who produced an excellent performance in last week's El Classico.
Kamara interest
Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, however, they will face competition for his services from Manchester United and Southampton. The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season.
Kamara has spent his entire career thus far with Marseille after coming through their academy. But with his current deal at the Stade Velodrome set to expire in the summer, the 22-year-old could be on his way to the Premier League.
