Tottenham news: Arsenal 'need more work' to catch Spurs as transfer business praised

Arsenal have been told they "need more work" to catch bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur next season.

The Gunners were pipped to a place in the Premier League's top four in a dramatic run-in to the end of the season last term, and Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Spurs have now made it "even harder to get that top four". Antonio Conte's side have had a busy summer transfer window bringing in the likes of Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Clement Lenglet.

And Agbonlahor is not the only one to praise the club for their work in the transfer market, with Liverpool midfielder Fabinho also a fan of their dealings. Meanwhile AC Milan are closing in on this signing of Japhet Tanganga as talks between the Italian outfit and Tottenham continue.

Have your say! Who do you think will be Tottenham Hotspur's most important signing during the summer transfer window? Let us know what you think in the comments below

And, according to football.london, the former Aston Villa forward says that is because Antonio Conte's side are bringing in "top, top players".

According to football.london, Spurs have been named alongside the usual suspects of Manchester City and Chelsea – with Spurs' bitter rivals Arsenal rounding off Fabinho's list.

And according to the Brazilian, Spurs' work in the transfer market this summer will ensure they battle for the top places in the league next term.

Tanganga closes in on exit

AC Milan are reportedly closing in on the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga.

Reports coming out of Italy suggest talks have "intensified" in recent days, with the 23-year-old being eyed as a "serious" replacement for Alessio Romagnoli, who has joined Lazio on a free transfer this summer. Milan are hoping to replicate their success of signing fellow Englishman Fikayo Tomori, who has impressed since moving to Italy.

And football.london reports that the Italian outfit are hoping to structure a move for Tanganga similarly, with the defender initially joining on loan with an option for a permanent move.
