Tottenham news: Antonio Conte reveals unique Spurs challenge as Yves Bissouma disappoints

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Sunday, October 30.

Player ratings vs Bournemouth

Yves Bissouma (5): He was applauded by Antonio Conte after winning the ball on the edge of the box in the first half, but his subsequent cross went out of play. He struggled again and didn't take his rare opportunity in the side.

Ryan Sessegnon (7): Got forward on a couple of occasions but the final action was missing in the first half. He finished well not long after the restart, as his shot found the net via the post. He did ok on the right when he switched sides.

Son Heung-min (6): Another frustrating afternoon for last season's Premier League top goalscorer as he offered little in attack to begin with, but he did improve as the game wore on. Struggled with his set pieces on occasions, although it was his corner that resulted in the winner.

Conte on Spurs' personality

Conte shed light on the challenges his side still face after Spurs conceded a two-goal lead to Bournemouth. Speaking to football.london after the game, the Italian insisted on the need for his players to find stability and the importance of not losing confidence.

"Sometimes it is difficult for me to understand why it happens in some situations, but I think that we started a path with this group of players," Conte said. "Maybe in three or four days, it will be one year that I will stay in Tottenham, and I will work with this group of players. For me, these guys are really, really good guys, really good players, but sometimes they lose confidence easily.

"I think we have to try to work and continue to work on this aspect because sometimes it is frustrating when you try. You work a lot and try to find a solution to hurt your opponent, and sometimes you see your team up and down, up and down. We have to try to find stability."

Conte on the frequency of crosses

Conte was quizzed on the motive behind Spurs' sheer number of crosses in the clash against the Cherries. Speaking to football.london after the game, he admitted that crossing the ball naturally became more prominent after going 2-0 down.

"For us, it is very important when you play with three at the back," Conte said. "It's important the quality, important to have not only defenders but also players who are really good with the ball to build up and then become the striker because they have to play and attack and stay. When you start to play with three at the back when you have the ball, we work to stay with the two at the back and go offensive.

"I think in the second half when we had nothing to lose, we started to do this. My players have to understand we have to do what we try during the training session and not only because we are losing 2-0. We have to attack. We have to attack and not only defend our goal."
