Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Saturday, December 24.
Romero, Perisic and Lloris update
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has provided an update on World Cup trio Cristian Romero, Hugo Lloris and Ivan Perisic ahead of his side's trip to Brentford on Boxing Day.
With the World Cup finished less than a week ago, Spurs' World Cup stars have begun filtering back into training at Hotspur Way. The club posted footage of Croatia's Ivan Perisic and England's Harry Kane yesterday, hinting at their inclusion against Thomas Frank's side on Monday.
Ahead of the Boxing Day trip to Brentford, Conte provided an update on the players that featured in Qatar last weekend. He said: "Perisic, Hugo and Cuti [Romero], only Ivan, who came back today and had a training session with us, is available for the game against Brentford.
"About Lloris, we want him to stay with us and want him to also to stay on the bench against Brentford. As you know very well it is important also after World Cup to give bit of rest these players. About Cuti, he will be available for next game against Aston Villa, I hope so."

Chelsea Skriniar blow
Chelsea are preparing a plan to beat London rivals Tottenham to a key defensive signing that Antonio Conte would love in his team. Conte worked with Milan Skriniar during his time at Inter and is keen on strengthening his defensive options.
Chelsea are ‘ready to step in’ and make a move for Skriniar should he be available on a free transfer in the summer, according to Calciomercato.
Inter are working to get the central defender signed to a new deal and have offered him an extended deal worth €7million (£6.1million) a year plus bonuses. Skriniar is yet to accept Inter's offer and is refusing to give a ‘definitive answer’ as he wants to weigh up his options.
Doherty issues Premier League warning
Matt Doherty believes that Tottenham's punishing work on the training pitch during the mid-season break could bode well for Antonio Conte's team come May.
With Dejan Kulusevski stating that their work over the past few weeks has been harder than what they went through in pre-season, Doherty believes that it could have a big impact in the final few months of the campaign just as it did last season.
“They know what they’re doing, you know? Training is very difficult. We’re getting worked hard, which is fine because we’re going to see the results of it come towards the end of the season," said the Republic of Ireland international.
“You felt like you could see it last season by the end by the fact that we were kind of blowing teams away. Hopefully it’s the same case here. We might not be seeing the results of it now, but the longer the season goes on, hopefully we’ll start to run teams off the pitch."
