Here are your latest Tottenham news stories for Thursday, June 9.
Bastoni makes transfer decision
Following the signings of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster, the next transfer target for Antonio Conte is believed to be a move to sign a left-footed centre-back after relying on natural left back Ben Davies for much of last season. One player who has been linked with a move to North London is Alessandro Bastoni, whom Antonio Conte worked with during his time at Inter Milan.
Manchester United are also believed to be interested, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, in the 23-year-old Italy international who thrived under Conte in Milan, winning the Scudetto in 2020/21. However, according to 90 min, it is Spurs who would be the player's preference due to the possibility of playing Champions League football next season.

Pau Torres talks underway
While Bastoni would be a good option for the role on the left-hand side of Conte's defence, it could well be Pau Torres who fulfils the role, with talks reportedly having begun for the Villareal defender. Sky Sports Italia report that the club could be willing to offer Giovanni Lo Celso as part of a swap deal following a positive loan move for the Argentine where he reached the Champions League semi-finals.
Torres was an outstanding performer last season for the Spanish club and has 18 Spain caps to his name and could well be in search of Champions League football after Villareal failed to qualify. Manchester United and Chelsea are also reported to be interested but these reports seem to indicate that Spurs and Conte are currently in the driving seat.
Bale offered to Getafe
After a loan spell at Tottenham in the 2020/21 season in which he scored an impressive 11 Premier League goals in 20 games, it had been rumoured that he might join the club once more this summer after his Madrid contract expired. However, reports coming out today suggest that he could be keen to remain in Madrid, with Getafe president Angel Torres confirming that Bale's agent had offered the 32-year-old to the La Liga club.
Getafe are the third club in Madrid and the revelation was made during their kit launch for next season with Torres saying: “People might take it as a joke but about 45, 50 minutes ago, I spoke to his representative and they have offered him to us.”.
