Chelsea's miserable 1-0 Premier League defeat to Southampton has further increased the pressure on Blues boss Graham Potter, with the club left sitting in 10th place after 23 matches.
James Ward-Prowse netted a trademark free-kick to extend Chelsea's winless run to five games across all competitions as supporters begin to grow restless amid little sign of progression.
Despite registering 17 shots and dominating 61% of possession, the hosts visibly lacked a cutting edge, making Potter's decision to rest the likes of Reece James and Hakim Ziyech, whilst also leaving out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang again, even more questionable.

Whilst Potter's appointment, and Chelsea's transfer activity for that matter, was finalised with one eye on the club's future, fanbase frustrations are completely intelligible. The likes of Brentford, Brighton and even West London rivals Fulham all sit above Chelsea at this current time.
Subsequently, it will come as little surprise to many that speculation over Potter's future continues to grow, with potential successors beginning to be touted on social media. What may shock some, however, is a desire to see Chelsea appoint former Tottenham Hotspur chief Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine enjoyed a tremendous tenure in North London, constructing teams that came close to securing Premier League titles in 2016 and 2017, before leading Spurs to the UEFA Champions League final in 2019. Having since managed PSG in France, Pochettino's inability to win silverware is often criticised.
Below is a taste of just how fans are assessing the prospect Pochettino to Chelsea on Twitter...
@gdmnesh - I never thought I would say this. Bring in Pochettino.
@CFC_Kow - I’d take Pochettino in a heartbeat, that's how bad Potter is.
@bayour20 - Enrique and Pochettino can NEVER be this bad.
@Nemoboii23 - Everyone calling for the sack but can we even sack him? Who’s going to take over? Luis Enrique nope. Zidane? No thanks. Pochettino?? No thanks. We don’t have a choice but to ride it out with Potter. I said it before I’d only sack him if we get knocked out of UCL + lower than 10th.
@ss_cfc1999 - If they sack Potter they need to pick the right manager. A manager that likes the type of players we have. These players are not Potter signings it's obvious. Clearly these players don't suit Potter and vice verse. I think Pochettino or flick are the right options.
@Alias_sss - Pochettino is the right person for us. He has built teams and worked very well with young players.
@GabuSirma - Many elite coaches out there! I would prefer Pochettino. He has the credentials to get the best out of this team.
