Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:39North London eventually serves up a Premier League classic as Tottenham and Manchester United draw 2-2 with late drama the order of the day. Mbeumo's fine, headed opener from an Amad cross gave the visitors the lead in a widely passive first half. Spurs then steadily threatened, finding a Johnson goal disallowed for offside just after the hour mark. While Lammens had stood up to tests from both Romero and Palhinha valiantly, there was nothing he could do as Spurs managed to click into gear in the last 10 minutes. First, substitute Tel equalised in the 84th minute, spinning off an Udogie ball and firing a deflected effort home off De Ligt. Just two minutes later, the momentum seemed firmly with those in white, as Sesko was denied what could've been a winner with Van de Ven's last-ditch tackle inspiring the hosts. Such was the nature of the challenge, Sesko was actually forced to withdraw, and it looked like Spurs had the advantage over their 10-man visitors. Richarlison headed on an Odobert shot to make it 2-1 in the 91st minute, but the drama wasn't over in stoppage time, as De Ligt nodded in a Fernandes corner from the left in the 96th minute. Now, after over-performing their 0.96 and 0.63 xGs respectively, these sides continue to be locked together on points. Thanks for joining us today. Goodbye!

14:27FULL-TIME: TOTTENHAM 2-2 MANCHESTER UNITED
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:26After the goal, Danso picks up a late booking for a tactical foul.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:26Fernandes' corner is an excellent, dangerous delivery. That's deflated the Spurs fans massively!
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:25GOOOOAAALLLLL! WHAT DRAMA! IT'S 2-2 TO BREAK TOTTENHAM HEARTS! The 10 men of United level at the death as De Ligt heads a Fernandes left-sided corner in at the back post! It's a towering header!
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:23What a turnaround... Odobert's effort goes down as an assist. That's his first assist of the league campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:23GOOOOAAALLLLL! IT'S 2-1 TO SPURS! RICHARLISON! The corner comes in from the right and is half-cleared to Odobert. He shoots, and Richarlison helps the effort on its way with his head and into the bottom-right corner past Lammens!
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:24With that unorthodox poacher's header, Richarlison has scored his fourth Premier League goal this season. That's more than any other Tottenham player.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:22Richarlison is booked for the ensuing Tottenham limbs, taking his shirt off in the celebrations.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:20There will be six minutes of added time here. Just as that's signalled, De Ligt pulls out a great clearance at his right post from a dangerous cross. Corner to come...
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:20Odobert crosses for Richarlison, but it's headed out. The second cross from the left is better, but Tel can't properly connect, and Lammens can collect the ball easily.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:18With Sesko trudging off, and United having used all of their subs, Amorim's side are down to 10 men...
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:16Romero is off now after picking up an injury. Van de Ven deservedly takes the armband for the final few minutes as Kevin Danso emerges.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:17Both Romero and Sesko are down at the time of writing. We'll see more changes shortly.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:16WHAT A TACKLE VAN DE VEN! Sesko is played in well and looks to shoot. However, Van de Ven somehow gets back to put in a brilliant sliding challenge to quell the danger! What a recovery!
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:13Udogie's pass capped a flowing Spurs move. The Italian defender now has his first assist of the PL campaign this season.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:13GOAL! SPURS HAVE THEIR EQUALISER! 1-1! TEL OFF THE BENCH! Udogie is found on the left and sends a whizzing pass into the feet of Tel inside the box. He turns excellently, and his shot deflects off De Ligt and up past Lammens!
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:12Mbeumo feeds Dalot beautifully on the left with a pass around the corner, but the Spurs defence adapt well. He's been excellent today.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:09Dorgu is off now, replaced by Diogo Dalot for the final 10 minutes of regular time.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:08Dorgu is booked belatedly. We're presuming it's for a grim late challenge on a clearing Spence.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:08Simons is the next ot make way for Mathys Tel, and the home crowd boo the decision, as he's been key for a lot of forward play for the hosts.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:07There are more Spurs changes as Frank's men chase an equaliser. Off comes Palhinha for Rodrigo Bentancur.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:08Sesko is found in behind by Mount, yet takes too long to shoot and is tackled well by Spence.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:06Fernandes' driven free-kick from the left just hits Dorgu and then loops up off a Spurs deflection. Vicario rises well to deny a corner and tries to fuel a counter. A foul on Simons in the centre of the park halts the momentum.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:04Dorgu cuts past Palhinha superbly on the left flank and then hits the deck after tripping over the sprawled Portuguese midfielder. When the players are back to their feet, the Spurs man is booked for the challenge.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:02Manchester United are less than 16 minutes away from just their second Premier League clean sheet of the season. Can they hold out, or will Spurs battle back?
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:00Maguire's race is run as Leny Yoro enters the fray for the final 20 or so minutes.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:00Cunha is the second change of the three as he is replaced by Mason Mount.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:00Casemiro makes way for Manuel Ugarte.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
14:00Sesko spins away from Romero and gets in behind on the left. However, he's all by himself and is forced back. Fernandes is found in behind and chests down... but can only lift the ball over! Maguire now looks like he's struggling. Yoro is warming up.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:58Spurs work well down the left. Udogie skips into the box and tries to pull the ball back, but he can only find Fernandes...
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:56Frank turns to his bench once more now, as Porro is brought off for Destiny Udogie. Spurs are perhaps swapping crossing prowess for more of a defensive edge.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:56United have won just four Premier League games on the road under Amorim. They're 20-odd minutes away from a clean sheet victory that will send them second in the table.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:56A smart cross comes into the United box from the right, and Richarlison has his foot raised. It looks like the ball strikes the arm of Maguire, but the on-field decision waves away a penalty. It actually looked like the England defender also took a kick to the chest for his troubles too.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:52DISALLOWED GOAL! A nice series of passes move Spurs through the United half excellently before Richarlison feeds Johnson on the right. The Welshman slots into the bottom-left corner, but is just offside. If only Richarlison had seen Odobert free as a bird on the left!
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:50There's a stoppage now as Porro is down following a collision with Mbeumo in the centre of the park. Looked like an inadvertent elbow to the chops for the Spaniard.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:46Mazraoui makes way for Benjamin Sesko as Amorim seems to be aware of his side's slender lead. Having the big Slovenian up top provides a completely different dynamic for the Red Devils.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:46PALHINHA! It's another great save from Lammens! Another cross comes into the United area and it's half headed clear before Palhinha volleys on goal. It's through Maguire's legs, but the young Belgian stopper parries away nicely!
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:44HALF-TIME: TOTTENHAM 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:44Hello everyone, and welcome to the start of matchday 11 in the Premier League! We have a corker for you today, as Tottenham take on Manchester United to kick off the weekend's action.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:43TOTTENHAM SUBSTITUTES: Antonin Kinsky, Destiny Udogie, James Rowswell, Kevin Danso, Rodrigo Bentancur, Dane Scarlett, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert, Yusuf Akhamrich.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:43TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1): Guglielmo Vicario; Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Djed Spence; Pape Matar Sarr, Joao Palhinha; Brennan Johnson, Xavi Simons, Richarlison; Randal Kolo Muani.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:44ROMERO! What a save from Lammens! A ball from the left curls in and finds Romero to poke on goal inside the six-yard box. It's straight at the keeper, but he still does brilliantly to flick it around the post with his right leg.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:43A plethora of Spurs crosses continue, yet United are sat deep.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:41Spurs are seeing a bit more of the ball in these opening exchanges, yet it's relatively slow. Sarr then crosses from the right, yet Mazraoui takes the ball down and clears.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:39Spurs appear to have changed the system, with three at the back and Richarlison in an out-and-out attacking role.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:38Richarlison! A lovely ball in from the right aims for the Brazilian, yet Maguire just pokes the ball away from him. Alas, the flag is up for offside.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:37We're back in action for the second half.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:36Frank goes for a switch up at the interval, as Kolo Muani is sacrificed for Wilson Odobert.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:34Of course, with their goal, United are looking good for their lead at the moment. Their record is a good one too, as the Red Devils have only lost one of their last 157 Premier League games when leading a halftime (W134 D22), a 3-1 loss at Manchester City in March 2024. Amorim's side have done well to overperform their 0.29 xG, while the hosts have hardly got started here. Similar to their exploits against Chelsea, Frank's team have yet to get a shot on target. Furthermore, their xG is at a minuscule 0.07 xG. With that half of football in the books, the Opta Supercomputer sees the hosts have just a 16.2% chance of victory. A draw comes in marginally better at 27.5%, while United are favourites with a 56.4% chance of victory. That said, it's fair to suggest that both XIs could do with an injection of flair from the bench.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:26Some despondent boos swirl around a frustrated Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as Spurs trail Manchester United 1-0 at the break. After a bleak opening half hour where many were forced to cast their minds back to May's stale Europa League final in Bilbao, Mbeumo's header came as a fresh injection of intent. The home defending reached near-comedic levels for the goal in the 32nd minute, as Sarr needlessly put Van de Ven under pressure with a ropey pass. The home side failed to clear, and Amad was able to cross well from the right of the box for Mbeumo to nod in his fifth goal of the league campaign. Aside from two petulant Spurs bookings for Johnson and Romero, action has been relatively thin on the ground. Both sides will be hoping for more in the second 45 minutes, as a lot of potential in transition (especially from Spurs) has gone to waste.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:19There will be a minimum of one added minute at the end of the half here.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:18Porro's corner from the right is headed out by De Ligt. A second ball is deflected out for Porro to take a long throw on the same side.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:18Kolo Muani skips past Dorgu on the right well, but the Dane recovers magnificently to send the ball out for a corner.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:18A Spurs move goes south, and Johnson looks frustrated. Tottenham have yet to register an attempt on target so far.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:18It has to be better from the hosts. Tottenham are winless in their last 18 Premier League games when conceding first (D4 L14) since beating Aston Villa 4-1 in November last year.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:18Spurs string some lovely passes together with Richarlison and Simons dovetailing nicely. While the move doesn't come to anything, the build-up is promising for the home fans.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:13Fernandes looks bereft after passing the ball out of play on United's right. He wanted Mazraoui to run, but instead looked a bit silly as the ball rolled out aimlessly.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:10Good news for the red contingent this afternoon. Manchester United have a record of five wins, two draws, and just one defeat when scoring the opening goal in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:08With that deft cross, Amad picks up his second assist of the season. What were Spurs doing back there? Sarr's pass to Van de Ven in his own third was so needless. Just get it out! Diallo has now been directly involved in three goals across his last four Premier League games (one goal, two assists), more than in his previous 13 appearances (two).
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:08GOAL! 1-0 UNITED! MBEUMO! We have liftoff! The visitors come forward semi-convincingly as the hosts struggle to clear. Diallo is held up on the right and clips in a left-footed ball for the October Player of the Month to nod in at the back post! Tottenham are caught napping as the number 19 just drifts away from any markers.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:09With his fifth goal of the Premier League season, Mbeumo has now scored five against Spurs in the league. This makes the Lilywhites his joint favourite scoring opposition in the competition.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:07Romero sweeps through Dorgu and gets none of the ball. Yellow card for the Argentine.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:03Yet again, the set-piece is miserable and easily cleared. You get the feeling that just one goal will ignite this contest. It's just a matter of when, hopefully not if.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:00Johnson is in the book after larking about with De Ligt at the back post. He loses the wrestling match with the Dutchman and is lucky that the corner was yet to be taken.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
13:02Porro powers over another poor corner. Richarlison is there at the back stick, but heads it up and backwards. Mbeumo then tries to feed Amad on the counter. Johnson has to eventually race back and concede a corner.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:59Simons scurries away through the centre of the pitch. He makes great ground, but has very little support. After United force the hosts back, Spence darts down the left and his low cross is put behind by De Ligt.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:58There are shades of that drab final in Bilbao in this game...
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:57Fernandes takes, but Richarlison defends the corner at the front post. There are half-hearted appeals for handball, but the overriding decision is that the Brazilian kicked the ball onto his own arm. Still, it's a close one. United then force a long throw on the left. Dorgu takes, but it's a rubbish effort. Headed away easily.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:54Cunha wriggles past Romero on the right of the box and gets a shot off. Sarr gets back and blocks the ball behind for a corner.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:54We tick into the 20th minute, and we're still waiting for a juicier morsel of action. Van de Ven drives out of defence before deciding not to replicate his wondergoal against Copenhagen. The fans ironically boo the athletic Dutchman.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:52After Sarr balloons an effort over from range, Tottenham threaten to come forward again. Simons turns on a bouncing ball beautifully, but his pass over to Johnson on the right is just too long. It's great skill, nonetheless.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:50Richarlison! Johnson cuts back onto his left and crosses from the right. The effort is a lovely curling ball into the area, and Richarlison has to make contact! Instead, he misses the header completely. What a waste...
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:50Well, we're still waiting for this game to catch fire. Officially, Manchester United have failed to have a shot in the opening 15 minutes of a Premier League game for the first time this season with these opening exchanges.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:46There's a brief stoppage as Kolo Muani and Maguire collide. It was sheerly a case of unstoppable force and immovable object. Both players are back to their feet, and the passing continues, this time for those in red.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:45Spurs are taking on some considered possession right now. There's a buoyant atmosphere at the moment. It's clear that that win against Copenhagen has people optimistic. In fact, they have good reason. Tottenham haven’t lost any of their four Premier League games this season that have come after playing in Europe in midweek (winning three and drawing one), having failed to win any of their final seven such fixtures last term (drawing two and losing five).
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:42There have been 24 games since the last 0-0 between these two sides. That's pleasant reading.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:41Mbeumo is in behind on the left as a slick United move sends the Cameroonian into the box. Fernandes is the man with the pass, yet the flag goes up as the former Brentford forward squares. The keeper was out, but there was no on in red to tap home!
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:38After a bit of a sloppy start, United now look to come forward. Today could be an interesting outing for the visitors. They have won each of their last four Premier League games that have come before an international break, beating newly promoted sides Burnley (3-2) and Sunderland (2-0) before the September/October international breaks this season.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:35A dodgy De Ligt back pass catches Lammens out, and Spurs have an early corner on the left. After some initial shoving that referee Barrott has to resolve, the corner floats over, and Kolo Muani can't latch on at the back post. Goal kick.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:33And we're off in the day's early kick off.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:33Wreaths are being laid ahead of Remembrance Sunday. The stadium falls silent now for the military personnel who paid the ultimate sacrifice, as a lone bugler's 'Last Post' cuts through the impeccably observed moment of respect. Spurs will now kick us off, playing from left to right.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:32Today's referee is Sam Barrott. He leads the players out from the tunnel into an excited scene. This corner of North London is ready for this clash, as music blares and the fans cheer in this fine, modern football stadium. A reminder, the winner today can go second in the table before the other sides get kicked off.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:17Ruben Amorim makes three changes to his starting line-up, with Harry Maguire, Noussair Mazraoui and Patrick Dorgu all returning in place of Leny Yoro, Diogo Dalot and Benjamin Sesko, who drop to the bench. Kobbie Mainoo’s absence through injury means a call on the Manchester United bench for England Under-19 midfielder Jack Fletcher, son of former United midfielder and the club’s current Under-18s coach Darren. The move extends a record of United having an academy player in every matchday squad for over 4,000 games, dating back to 1937.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:17Thomas Frank makes three changes to the Tottenham side that beat Copenhagen in the Champions League. Richarlison, Joao Paulinha and Djed Spence are all included in place of Wilson Odobert, Destiny Udogie and Rodrigo Bentancur, who drop to the bench. Mathys Tel is on the bench for Spurs, who beat today’s opponents four times in all competitions last season.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:11MANCHESTER UNITED SUBSTITUTES: Altay Bayindir, Ayden Heaven, Leny Yoro, Diogo Dalot, Jack Fletcher, Manuel Ugarte, Mason Mount, Benjamin Sesko, Joshua Zirkzee.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:11MANCHESTER UNITED (3-4-2-1): Senne Lammens; Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw; Noussair Mazraoui, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Patrick Dorgu; Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo; Matheus Cunha.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:06Tottenham and Manchester United clash today, with both sides level on points and the top three in the league within touching distance. Before their midweek 4-0 trouncing of FC Copenhagen in the Champions League, Thomas Frank's Lilywhites were booed off the pitch as they were defeated by Chelsea 1-0 in a turgid fixture. Many fans will be hoping that they are turning a corner. They sit sixth in the Premier League table and just a point behind Liverpool in third. After last term’s double, Spurs head into today’s contest seeking to win three consecutive top-flight matches against Man United for the first time since the 1959-60 campaign. United enter this match, the first meeting since last season’s Europa League final, determined to go one better than their 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest last weekend. That result stopped a solid run of three wins in a row, as Ruben Amorim was nominated for October’s Manager of the Month award. The contest with Spurs comes at an interesting time, as the Red Devils are winless in their last seven meetings (drawing two and losing five).
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
12:00Lineups are announced and players are warming up.
