Antonio Conte confirmed Spurs will be without three first-team players against Newcastle United on Sunday.
There were questions over Ben Davies’ fitness after the Welsh left-back returned early from the international break with a tight quadricep. However, the move was simply precautionary and he is expected to start against the Magpies.
Youngster Oliver Skipp is enjoying a breakout season in North London but has been out since January with a pelvis injury. Conte hoped to have the 21-year-old back but now says he, alongside teammate Ryan Sessegnon, will not feature until next week.
Speaking to the press ahead of the game, Conte said: “Good news for Skippy (Oliver Skipp), and Ryan Sessegnon, they are very very close to being back with the team. They are improving a lot. They are having important training sessions, not with the team but apart. I hope next week to have both players back with the team.”

Ben Davies - Fit
Davies returned to Spurs from Wales duty prematurely and was originally a doubt for this weekend’s clash. However, as per the Athletic, he is expected to be ok and his withdrawal from the Dragons squad was precautionary.
Ryan Sessegnon - Hamstring
The 21-year-old has missed Spurs’ last four matches after injuring his hamstring against Everton earlier this month. Conte confirmed on Friday that he is expected to return next week.
Oliver Skipp - Pelvis
Speaking after Spurs' win against West Ham a fortnight ago, Conte said: "About Skippy, I hope to have him after the international break. His pain is getting better and better.”
However, football.london reports that those claims were unrealistic and he will not feature at the weekend, as Conte confirmed in his press conference.
Japhet Tanganga
Spurs’ young defender will miss the rest of the season following knee surgery. A club statement read: “Japhet Tanganga has undergone surgery on his right knee and will be out for the remainder of the season.
The England Under-21 international will undergo a period of recovery and is expected to return to training during the pre-season period.”
