Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they will travel to Scottish champions Rangers for a pre-season friendly on Saturday 23 July at 3pm. The two sides last met in 2004 when Nacho Novo and Dado Prso both netted for the Glasgow giants in a 2-0 win at Ibrox.
Spurs and Rangers have only met on one occasion in a competitive fixture; a Cup Winners Cup tie in 1962 that the Lilywhites won 8-4 on aggregate. They would go on to win the trophy that season, beating Atletico Madrid in the final.
Giovanni van Bronkhorst’s side are currently in the midst of their own European campaign having reached the semi-finals of the Europa League. They are also trail league leaders Celtic by six points with just four games to go, while the Gers will also face Hearts in the Scottish Cup final next month.

Meanwhile, Spurs will hope to have secured a return to the Champions League when they travel north of the border. Antonio Conte's side currently trail fourth placed Arsenal by two points with five games to go, and the two north London rivals will meet in a potentially decisive showdown on May 12.
The match will be broadcast live on the club’s new streaming service, SPURSPLAY and also on Rangers TV. The trip to Glasgow is the second confirmed travel destination for the club after they also announced they will tour South Korea as part of their preparations for the 2022/23 campaign.
Players who have played for both clubs include Graham Roberts, Paul Gascoigne, Alan Hutton and Jermain Defoe, who was part of their title success last season.
