Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Saturday, February 12.
Shock Bale move
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham have a 'pre-agreement' in place to sign Gareth Bale for a third time.
The 32-year-old attacker sees his contract at Real Madrid expire at the end of the season and he could be on his way back to Spurs if the report from Italy is to be believed.
Bale signed for Tottenham on a season-long loan deal during the 2020/21 campaign - scoring 11 goals in 21 Premier League appearances in his second spell with the north London club.
However, Tottenham never considered signing Bale on a permanent deal but could be interested in him with the Wales international set to become a free agent in the summer.
Conte confirms Dier absence
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has confirmed his side will be without defender Eric Dier for Sunday afternoon's Premier League match with Wolves.
Dier has not featured for Spurs in February due to a problem with his right thigh and he is not yet ready to return.
Conte said this in his pre-match press conference on Friday: "No, unfortunately he's not fit. For sure, he's a big loss for us. He needs a bit more time to recover.
"I don't know if... I hope to have him available for the next game, away against Manchester City, but for this game for sure he’s not available."
Dybala stance over transfer
Tottenham have been credited with an interest in Paulo Dybala in recent times, but they have now been dealt a blow in the reported race to sign him.
According to Italian football journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, the Argentina international wants to stay at Juventus, despite there being less than six months remaining on his contract in Turin.
Speaking to Wettfreunde, Di Marzio said: "Dybala wants to stay at Juventus otherwise he would have signed with another club. He can sign with every club now because he's free.
"If he decided to wait for Juventus' appointment at the end of February, it is because he wants to stay. It depends on what offer Juventus will give to Paulo and his agent.
"I think that the Dusan Vlahovic transfer can actually help Dybala to stay and not let him go away.
"Dybala understood that Juventus wants to create an important club for the future and the feeling with Vlahovic was, from the beginning, very exciting and amazing on and off the field."
