Tottenham star Cristian Romero believes his side can still catch rivals Arsenal this season ahead of Sunday's huge North London Derby clash. The Lilywhites sit a whole 11 points behind their near neighbours, who top the Premier League, but can close that gap and put a dent in their title hopes.
The clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is set to be a feisty one, with a potential repeat of last season's clash that eventually saw Spurs leapfrog the Gunners for a top four finish. This campaign the reverse fixture ended in a 3-1 defeat, but head coach Antonio Conte is expecting a great reception at home.
"My expectation is always the same," the Italian said before the clash. "Our fans they never disappointed us because in every moment of the season they show to stay with us in a positive and negative situation. For sure we know very well the importance of this game for the fans, for the rivalry there is between Tottenham and Arsenal. Last season I remember a fantastic atmosphere, an amazing atmosphere and I am sure also in this game we will find the same atmosphere."

Ahead of the big match, Tottenham star and World Cup winner Romero spoke to Sky Sports about the importance of the clash. While it was conducted in Italian, the Argentina international didn't name Arsenal once, instead referring to the rivals as "them".
He also believes that his side can close the gap and catch up with the Gunners, saying: "I think we can come back from this far back, but there's a lot of work we need to do, using everything we've got.
"If you're top of the league, you deserve to be there and that's where they are. But we want to be there ourselves. We know we need to improve a lot of things, but we are working hard thinking about us, not them."
Spurs will be hoping they can keep up the streak of winning North London Derby clashes at home in the Premier League, but it looks set to be a tough one, given Arsenal's seemingly imperious form at the top.
