Tottenham Hotspur have long been linked with a move for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
The north Londoners were keen on bringing Skriniar to N17 during Jose Mourinho's time as head coach, football.london understands, but a move failed to materialise. Speaking about the Slovakian international on his YouTube channel last summer, football.london's own Alasdair Gold said: “Skriniar was very much one that [Jose] Mourinho was looking at.
"Didn’t seem to be as much of a player far up the list of defenders last summer. But he’s a good player, he’s a good player. I think when you’re looking at money being saved as well and being able to put it to other positions.

“You’d be surprised if they didn’t. But certainly, I haven’t heard any talk about him and Spurs recently, but yeah, financially it does make sense.”
Skriniar is also into the final six months of his contract with Inter, meaning he would be available on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign. However, recent comments coming out of San Siro suggest that the 27-year-old may sign a new deal with the Serie A giants.
Speaking to the press via Sempre Inter, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta said: “We are negotiating with Skriniar, he deserves to be part of our present and future. I am always optimistic in life.
"We can do a lot, but we cannot do the impossible. We hope to reach a conclusion soon.”
Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has echoed Marotta's sentiment, claiming that the player is in love with the Nerazzurri. “Absolutely not,” Inzaghi said, via Sport Mediaset when asked if he was worried about the centre-half's future with the Italian giants.
“I’m not worried. Skriniar is in love with Inter and I have no doubts about him. At the same time, I have a strong company that is working best for all open situations.”
