Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni will ‘definitely stay’ with the Italian giants this summer, according to his representatives. The news will come as a huge blow to Tottenham who have been heavily linked with a move for the Nerazzurri defender.
Bastoni played under Spurs boss Antonio Conte whilst he was in charge of the Inter and was an integral part of the side that won the Serie A title in 2021. Conte has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his defence this summer and reportedly wanted the 23-year-old to slot in the left side of his favoured back three formation.
With his contract set to expire in two years it appeared that Inter were set to cash in on his services. However, as per Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano his agent Tullio Tinti confirmed that he would be staying at the San Siro.
