Tottenham have confirmed that goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman has signed a new two-year contract with the club. The 24-year-old will now remain a Spurs player until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
Whiteman's current deal was due to expire at the end of this season but he has now extended his stay with his boyhood club. The shot-stopper returned to the club at the end of last year following two separate loan spells with Swedish side Degerfors.
Initially joining the club in August 2021 for the remainder of the 2021 campaign, he then headed back to Sweden last February to link up with them for the full 2022 season. Since returning to N17, Whiteman has worked with fellow goalkeepers Hugo Lloris, Fraser Forster and Brandon Austin at Hotspur Way.

Injury to Lloris has seen the Tottenham-born player step up to third-choice goalkeeper and provide cover for Forster and Austin on a matchday. The academy graduate has one Spurs appearance to his name after coming on in place of Joe Hart for the final eight minutes of their Europa League group tie against Ludogorets during the 2020/21 campaign.
