NEW DELHI: Several English and German media outlets report that German champions Bayern Munich reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of England captain Harry Kane on Thursday.
Bayern, which has not commented on the reports, has been pursuing the striker for months in a deal worth approximately 100 million euros ($110.19 million).
If the transfer is completed, it will be the largest in Bundesliga history. German media reported that the clubs were arranging contracts, but the player still needed to pass a medical examination in Munich.
The Bavarians, who won the division for a record 11th consecutive season last year, were desperate to sign Kane in order to bolster their attack and compete for the Champions division title once again.
The Athletic website reported it was now up to Kane, who has one more year on his Tottenham deal, to accept the German club's offer.
Bayern kick off their season on Saturday with the German Super Cup against RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga starts next week with Bayern facing Werder Bremen on Aug. 18.
