Conservative MPs have urged Rishi Sunak to “get a grip” of immigration by ending cabinet rows and coming up with a clear plan to control the overall number of people coming into the UK.

The calls come ahead of this week’s official figures which are expected to show net migration rising to between 700,000 and 1 million.
