Tory MP Jamie Wallis has been found guilty after a car crash on November 28 last year.
The MP for Bridgend was found guilty of failing to stop, failing to report a road traffic collision and leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position after a late-night crash on Church Road, Llanblethian, South Wales.
He was found not guilty of driving without due care and attention by District Judge Tan Ikram at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Wallis has been disqualified from driving for six months and fined £2,500 after being found guilty of three traffic offences.
The MP was also ordered to pay additional costs of £620 and a victim surcharge of £190 within 14 days.
Prosecutor Carina Hughes said he had been driving a black Mercedes E Class when neighbours heard a "loud bang" and found the car smashed into a lamppost.
Witnesses approached Wallis to ask if he was OK and he replied: "I'm sorting it. I just need a phone. I just need a phone."
The court heard Wallis, 38, then fled the scene when witness Adrian Watson told him he was calling the police.
Mr Watson followed Wallis and overheard him on a call saying: "I have been accosted."
The court heard Wallis was seen getting into a Land Rover Discovery driven by his father before leaving the scene on November 28 last year.
PC Louie Hall attended the "mansion" home of Wallis' father which was "colossal in size" hours later to find the MP in bed with make-up on his face.
He said: "Jamie appeared to be wearing make-up. His eyelids were dark, his lips were red, his cheeks were bronzed and he had red nail varnish on his toes."
PC Hall added: "I noticed a blonde wig on the floor near the kitchen table."
The court heard Wallis lived in a separate flat on the estate but was found in one of the bedrooms in the main house which had "at least 10 bedrooms with en-suites."
A leather skirt and pearl necklace were seized by police after being found on the floor next to the bed.
Wallis told police he was "overwhelmed with fear" after seeing the witnesses approach the scene and believed he was going to be attacked.

The court heard the Mercedes car was found with "electrical wires in disarray" and the airbags deployed.
The court heard the incident happened in Llanblethian, near Cowbridge, in November last year after Wallis attempted to go and visit his estranged wife Rebecca who lived nearby.
The wooden post about the size of a tree trunk was snapped in the collision - causing an internet failure for villagers until it was repaired several days later.
No other vehicles were involved in the 1.10am crash and no one was injured in the collision less than two miles from the MP's home.
The trial before District Judge Tan Ikram continues at Cardiff magistrates court.
