
A UK Government minister has dismissed calls for an all-woman ballot to replace the Tory who quit last week after admitting he watched porn in the Commons chamber.
Some Conservatives – including Caroline Nokes, the chairwoman of the Commons Women and Equalities Committee – want the party to ensure their candidate in the by-election to succeed Neil Parish is a woman.
