'Tory government blaming UK crisis on Covid and Putin isn't cutting it anymore'

Crumbling hospitals, people so hard up they’re forced to go hungry, and the threat of recession... it’s another day and yet another barrage of Tory disasters.

The dire state of much of the country after 13 years of Conservative government is a damning indictment of their misrule and incompetence.

Leaving people considerably poorer, including those once in reasonably paid work, and damaging public services is a record the Tories will be unable to shake off no matter how much Rishi Sunak squirms and deceives.

Britain is doing worse than similar countries so the Tories blaming Covid and Ukraine isn’t being swallowed by voters.

Bad political decisions and the wrong responses are grave errors that the Tories simply can’t escape.

The hungry deserve to eat, Labour bequeathed rebuilt hospitals and we should not be facing a recession. The Conservatives are proving disastrous for Britain.

Covid shame

As Matt Hancock left the Covid Inquiry he was snubbed by bereaved families who turned their backs on him and was branded a “killer” by a heckler.

Saying sorry is no longer enough.

The Health Secretary, who breached his own rules in a clinch with a lover, later posed in Ant and Dec’s bush tucker jungle with a toad on his head.

He cuts a deeply unsympathetic figure after putting his bank balance first.

Hancock can’t escape taking his share of responsibility for the pandemic carnage when care homes and the failure to plan properly were fatal failures on his watch.

Let Nicola rest

In a sane world the coroner finding Nicola Bulley died accidentally after falling in a river would be accepted by everybody.

But this isn’t, alas, an entirely sane world.

So the cruel internet trolls – which a grieving family has pleaded with to end “wildly inaccurate speculation” on social media – may well continue their hurtful exchanges.
