New Tory chief Lee Anderson warned that the party had ruined the NHS in a post that has come back to haunt him.
The controversial MP was appointed by Rishi Sunak as deputy chairman of the Conservative Party earlier this week.
But now it can be revealed that he publicly complained about the state of the health service under the Tories.
Mr Anderson, whose wife has cystic fibrosis, warned that her treatment was getting worse since the party took charge.
“Under this Tory government we have really noticed the decline in the NHS,” he wrote on Facebook in July 2016.
“Drugs are harder to get. No more home visits. We are sat here now waiting for a bed to come free at our hospital, WE HAVE BEEN WAITING A WEEK.
“There are beds on the ward but no nurses to staff them.”
Mr Anderson has been at the centre of a series of rows since his appointment on Tuesday.
Within hours, the Prime Minister distanced himself from him after he backed the return of the death penalty.
Mr Sunak said "that's not my view, that's not the Government's view" when questioned about reinstating capital punishment.
In an interview with BBC Radio Nottingham on Wednesday, Mr Anderson became defensive when challenged about being caught asking a friend to pose as an anti-Labour swing voter on the doorstep during the 2019 election campaign.
Mr Anderson refused to reply when asked if he was dishonest. Instead, he asked the reporter 10 times if she had ever lied.
And yesterday the Mirror revealed that he had posted a video pledging to “graft” around the clock in his new job whilst on a sun-soaked taxpayer-funded jolly to Uruguay.
The Ashfield MP has been no stranger to controversy since being elected to Westminster in 2019.
He sparked fury last month by claiming families who use food banks squander their cash on cigarettes, alcohol, expensive TV subscriptions and holidays.
During a Commons speech in May, he suggested people in Britain use food banks because they "cannot cook properly" and "cannot budget".
In 2021, when the men's Euro 2020 football tournament was taking place, he vowed to boycott England matches in protest at the players taking the knee in support of anti-racism campaigners.
The MP’s promotion this week came just days after he compared the government to “the band on the Titanic” in leaked WhatsApp messages.
Mr Anderson did not respond to a request for comment.
