The actress, known for her role as Dr. Meredith Fell in the popular supernatural drama, revealed on a podcast that she went through a challenging period following her split from Wesley. DeVitto expressed that the public nature of their divorce, due to Wesley's fame from the show, made it a difficult time for her.
Despite appearing in six episodes of the series, DeVitto decided against continuing to work on The Vampire Diaries post-divorce, citing personal reasons for her choice. She emphasized that she did not feel comfortable returning to the show under the circumstances and preferred to move on from that chapter of her life.
