Adults newly diagnosed with the most common aggressive lymphoma may eventually see a challenge to their standard first treatment. On Oct. 5, AbbVie and Genmab announced that adding the bispecific antibody epcoritamab to R-CHOP chemotherapy cut the risk of disease progression or death by 51% compared with R-CHOP alone in higher-risk patients in a Phase 3 trial called EPCORE DLBCL-2.
The results are topline and company-reported. They come from the drugmakers that developed the drug and sponsored the trial; they have not been peer-reviewed, and key details such as survival data and side-effect rates have not been released. The combination is not approved, and nothing changes today for patients.
