  1. Seven workers were killed in a road accident near Chengam town in Tiruvannamalai after the SUV they were travelling collided with a TNSTC bus. Among the deceased, six persons are from Assam and one from T.N. They were returning from Puducherry to a gum-making factory near Hosur town.
