Top Scots cop Iain Livingstone knighted by Queen in Birthday Honours

Scotland's top cop has been knighted by the Queen.

Chief Constable Iain Livingstone and author Ian Rankin are among the Scots to be recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

The writer, best known for the fictional detective John Rebus, said it was "amazing to be honoured in this way", though he added it "may not make writing my next book any easier".
