The British team, which claimed its third Le Mans LMP2 victory this month, is the first customer team to declare a programme to run one of the hybrid prototypes in the Hypercar class of the WEC in 2023.
It will be Jota’s first assault on the top class of prototype racing in 15 years: it entered a Zytek 04S in the LMP1 class in 2004 and 2005 and subsequently ran a Lola-Judd B07/10 under the Charouz banner in 2007 and 2008.
