Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, issued a warning to President Donald Trump after he said the U.S. would intervene if the Tehran regime "violently kills peaceful protesters" in the demonstrations roiling the country.

The message came after Trump said in a social media post that the U.S. would come to the "rescue" of protesters in such a scenario. "We are locked and loaded and ready to go," Trump added.
