A further sequel in the popular Top Gun franchise is now in the works, with legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirming that a story is already in place. Bruckheimer discussed the potential of Top Gun 3, revealing that director Joseph Kosinski has a promising idea for the next chapter, which has received enthusiastic approval from lead actor Tom Cruise.

However, fans may have to wait a while before seeing Maverick back in action, as Cruise is currently occupied with filming Mission: Impossible 8. The production of Top Gun 3 hinges on Cruise's schedule, with Bruckheimer expressing optimism about the project's development.
