Top five Hogmanay events in Glasgow to kick off your New Years celebrations

December is in full flow, and with Christmas already quickly creeping up on us, many people won't even have begun to think about how they will be bringing in the New Year on the 31st.

In Scotland, Hogmanay is one of the biggest excuses for a party across the year, and we love celebrating the big countdown in the best ways possible with family and friends.

In case you haven't yet put any plans together, we've taken a look at some of the best parties and events from across the city to help kick off your new year's celebrations in the right way.

Merchant Square's Hogmanay Party

Merchant Square's Hogmanay Party (MS)

Merchant Square is kicking off its New Year's Celebrations with live performances from the French Fling Showgirls, Scott & The Fox and The Riffreshers. There will also be a fun balloon drop at midnight!

Optimo’s Hogmanay party

The legendary club night is returning for a real-life party on December 31 at Room 2 in Glasgow, with Glasgow party starters and soon-to-be household names Pleasure Pool joining them. You can also feel good as the night will serve as a fundraiser for Glasgow food banks and food pantries with a proportion of all funds raised donated.

Hogmanay at WEST on the Green

Drinks, dinner, DJs and plenty of entertainment, the popular brewery is going all out.

Magic Nostalgic at King Tut's

For a nostalgia-fueled party, King Tut's Wah Wah Hut is offering a fun celebration dictated by the famous wheel which is spun every half an hour to reveal a genre of music. Expect every style of music you can imagine and an incredibly fun night.

Hogmanay Ceilidh on the Ferry

There is no better way to end the year than with a traditional ceilidh and The Ferry on the banks of the River Clyde is offering a party like no other. Led by the marvellous Coila Ceilidh Band expect a provide a night not to be forgotten.
