The top 50 most significant cultural moments of the last 50 years have been named – including Abba's 1975 Eurovision win, Live Aid at Wembley Stadium, and the opening of the Channel Tunnel.
The earliest events to make the list were London's first Gay Pride march, and the release of iconic David Bowie album, “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars” – both in 1972.
The 80s were most heavily represented on the list, with an impressive 14 cultural highs from the decade picked out – including the first London Marathon, the launch of satellite TV, and the debut episode of EastEnders.
