At one point in time it looked like Ohio State Football was a contender for 2026 Georgia quarterback Julian “JuJu” Lewis, but that time has gone.
The sophomore put the Buckeyes in his top eight schools just last month, but has now made up his mind.
Lewis, the 6-foot, 1-inch, 185-pounder announced his commitment to USC on Tuesday afternoon, effectively shutting down his recruitment almost two years ahead of his classes signing day. He is ranked as the top overall prospect in his class by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Now, I’m not saying that the result from his opening weekend’s game helped make his decision, but it certainly could have played a part. Ohio State 2024 quarterback commit Air Noland went head-to-head with Lewis, and the future Buckeye came out on top.

The good news is that head coach Ryan Day has plenty of time to reset his recruiting board and find another quarterback for the 2026 class to go with the only current commit, wide receiver Chris Henry Jr.
