The Denver Broncos have had 20 head coaches (and interim coaches) in their history, including six coaches since they won Super Bowl 50 following the 2015 season.
The club hopes to now have some continuity at coach in Sean Payton, who had an accomplished career with the New Orleans Saints before landing in Denver. Payton went 8-9 in his first season in 2023 and, believe it or not, his .471 win percentage cracks the top 10 on the team’s list of all-time winningest coaches.
Payton, of course, has a small sample size. An even smaller sample size is that of 2022 interim coach Jerry Rosburg, who’s tied with Wade Phillips with a .500 win percentage thanks to his 1-1 record.
The sample sizes are, admittedly, a big factor in these winning percentage rankings, so we’ve also included each coach’s overall record as well.
The best coach in franchise history was Mike Shanahan. He was a two-time Super Bowl champion, but his .616 win percentage ranks fourth. Check out the full list of the 10 best win percentages in Broncos history below.
