Glasgow is not in short supply of bars, whether it's no-fuss pints you're after or fancy cocktails. Unfortunately, all that choice can make it difficult to know where to head for a drink.

There are a lot of bars and pubs out there that are not worth your hard-earned money. With the cost of living crisis continuing to worsen, it's important to ensure you are getting your money's worth.

To help you find a reliable place to get a drink, Glasgow Live took to TripAdvisor to find its top 10 bars and restaurants across the city. We also took a sample review for each one, so you know exactly what customers think.

Here is everything you need to know.

10. Speakeasy, 10 John Street

Rating: 4.5/5

Number of reviews: 175

Coming in at 10th place is Speakeasy on John Street. A self-described "drinking den", Speakeasy includes private booths, live entertainment, and "even the odd spot of sports".

One customer said: "Love this place. I've been a few times and will go back again.

"Drinks are amazing. Cocktails are very quirky and don’t disappoint.

"Bar staff were very attentive and upbeat and the atmosphere is a winner too. I only have good things to say about this place."

Revolucion de Cuba is, as the name suggests, is an "authentic Cuban bar experience" in the heart of Glasgow. TripAdvisor users singled out its "excellent" atmosphere and "delicious" drinks.

One customer said: "Fun and loud is what comes to mind. The Cuban style food is excellent, with a great selection of Tapas and entrees.

"The drinks menu is extensive and not surprisingly Latin oriented. We noticed a number of people move away from the stage area as the live music was loud.

"However we enjoyed it. We just happened to have been there when live music was on."

8. Nonna Said, 26 Candleriggs

Nonna Said is the only bar on this list with a rare 5/5 average rating, though it has far less reviews than any of the the others. It specialises in cocktails and pizzas, and according to TripAdvisor users it nails both.

One customer said: "We visited on Saturday afternoon and staff were so friendly. A lovely warm welcome from the new manager helped create a very nice relaxed atmosphere despite the city centre being very busy.

"The drinks were nice (I am told the Mel Mel Cool was excellent) and the salt and chill chicken pizza on a perfect crispy base definitely hit the mark as did the dirty fries with cheese and haggis which had a nice spice to the dish. Highly recommended and we would definitely go back."

7. The James Tassie, Kilmarnock Road Shawlands

The James Tassie describes itself as a "friendly venue offering delicious food and great drinks", and visitors seem to agree. TripAdvisor users have praised its "amazing" service and "great quality" drinks.

One customer said: "I was in the afternoon for some lunch and cocktails, food was absolutely lovely lots of meals to choose from, reasonable prices which you wouldn’t be disappointed about, lovely cocktails, was such a lovely afternoon - amazing service, clean pub, lovely staff, I will 100 per cent be back."

One customer said: "My wife and I shared their two Scottish pies and one was as good as the other. As a non-drinker i van only say my wife wholly enjoyed her beer.

One customer said: "What an excellent bar with helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff and a hugely impressive array of beers, lagers, IPAs etc. Great ambience, beautiful building, really lovely place to spend time.

"We’d already had dinner when we went there or else we would have absolutely tried the pizzas, which looked delicious. Will 100 per cent return next time we’re in Glasgow."

4. Rab Ha's, 81 Hutcheson Street

Rab Ha's is located in the heart of Merchant City, and prides itself on being a "welcoming bar and kitchen". Looking at TripAdvisor reviews, visitors agree — with users calling the bar's service "exceptional".

One customer said: "Simply great service friendly staff, fab food and cosy pub. What's not to like?

"Would definitely recommend. Will be back."

3. The Pot Still, 154 Hope Street

What one customer said: "I started my birthday evening here for some drinks and the staff were so lovely we all came back after dinner and spent the entire night here. The drinks were really great but my five star rating is for literally every single staff member I spoke to.

"I’ve worked in hospitality for years and never met such kind and welcoming staff. They are all truly such an asset to Revolution."
