Sunderland will play Hartlepool United in their final pre-season friendly at the beginning of August. The Black Cats have confirmed that they will make the short trip to Victoria Park on Tuesday, August 1, with kick-off at 7.30pm.
Sunderland have been given an allocation of 1,775 tickets for the match, with details of their availability due to be confirmed in the coming weeks. The game will act as a dress rehearsal for Tony Mowbray's side ahead of the start of the Championship season, which gets under way on the weekend of August 5-6.
John Askey's Pools were relegated from League Two last season and will compete in the National League next season, making this Sunderland's third friendly against non-league opposition this summer. The Black Cats had already confirmed that they will face Julio Arca's South Shields, who were promoted to the National League North last season, and National League Gateshead, with both of those fixtures taking place on July 8.
