Tommy Fury has confirmed there are no clauses to "fix" his fight with Jake Paul in the contract for their upcoming clash.
Fury and Paul look set to do battle in the latter star's seventh professional fight next month as they finally get to touch gloves and settle their rivalry. Throughout the early stages of his influencer boxing career, YouTube star Paul has faced criticism from the likes of Paddy Pimblett and Dillon Danis, who claimed his fights are "fixed" by the contract.
After Paul's narrow points win over Tyron Woodley in August 2021, Danis claimed that there was a 'no knockout' clause inserted into the former UFC champion's contract preventing him from halting the contest. But potential upcoming rival Fury has insisted he doesn't know if this has been the case with previous fights.
"I don’t know. I’m not there on negotiations [for other fighters]," Fury told Rob Moore when discussing allegations against Paul. "I don’t see the contract, I don’t know. But there’s nothing in my contract for the two previous fights that were scheduled, there was nothing like that. You couldn’t pay me a trillion pounds to take a dive. Money’s not my god. Money’s nice – it makes the world go round, but it’s not everything."
Paul has always issued a stern denial of the allegations, insisting that the claims are stupid, particularly given his involvement with professional brands who promote his clashes. He said: "Look, it’s a bunch of losers trying to make s*** up to get in the headlines and to get reporters to ask about that exact question and put their name into the mix so they can get a little bit of clout.
"Having a ‘no knockout clause’ in a contract – I’ve never heard of that. It’s highly illegal, I would be in jail. That’s like rigging a fight. I would be in prison if that was a real thing. It’s all nonsense, it’s all bulls*** and they got exactly what they wanted out of it, which was for people to mention their name."

Paul defeated UFC legend Anderson Silva in October, with the Brazilian also coming out to deny the claims while offering his support to the YouTube star in his short boxing career. Paul's recent potential contract with bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry also disproved the theory given the sanctioning of a governing body.
The 'Problem Child' has admitted he feels disheartened by the claims and believes critics are trying to take his success away from him. "When I do something like beating Anderson Silva, they try to take it away from me," he said on The MMA Hour. "I lose faith in my generation and my peers and us as a society and a world when I see that type of stuff and that type of stupidity.
"It just sucks. It sucks because I worked so hard for this. I dedicate everything, sacrifice everything, every single day, bust my balls, have a 15-person team working around the clock to help me become the best boxer possible."
