Tommy Fury insists he will leave crossover boxing to pursue his hopes of becoming a world champion after facing Jake Paul.
Love Island star Fury, 23, has pulled out of two previous meetings against YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul but is hoping it will be third time lucky on February 26 when they fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fury refused to attend a press conference which took place in Riyadh on Wednesday afternoon to promote the fight, with Paul claiming his rival's absence was because he "needed more time to train".
The 23-year-old is unbeaten in eight professional fights whilst Paul has gone 6-0 since ditching his internet fame for a career in the ring. Fury played down the possibility of him staying in crossover boxing after facing Paul as he wants to win world titles before going down in boxing "history".
"All of these lucrative fights are out there, I will clear up. My sole goal since starting boxing is to be a world champion and I do believe I've got what it takes to be there and get to that level. I do believe everybody writes me off because of Love Island, there is a lot of jealousy," Fury told BT Sport Boxing.

"I'm going to beat him, put an end to him once for all and then everyone can thank me for doing it. After that, I'm going to get back on my route to win some world titles and then go down in history. Then I'll bob my hat and leave the sport, that's my goal."
KSI revealed he will attempt to fight Fury later this year instead of Paul if the Brit hands his American rival the first loss of his career. Fury has played down Paul's abilities by insisting he's sparred against better boxers than him in the gym. although the Brit admitted that their fight later this month is the biggest of his career so far.
"This is the biggest fight of my career but it's not the toughest test of my career because I've had tougher spars in the gym. I know sparring isn't fighting, but I've got a plan from A-Z for this man," Fury added.
"There is a million things that he's going to fall for and he doesn't realise it. He's jumping in at the deep end, I pinch myself every single day to see if it's real.
"You want to pay me a heap of money to fight Jake Paul? Christmas has come early, sign me up. It's going to be the end of an idiot, the end of a clown who is delusional. I can bet my whole life on Jake Paul leaving Saudi Arabia with his first loss."
