Tommy Fury took his t-shirt off as he was "ready to have it" with Jake Paul whilst facing off with his rival in the ring.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul and Love Island star Fury will settle their bitter feud in Saudi Arabia on February 26 after years of back and forth. The pair faced off at the Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde fight in London last month and Fury left fans puzzled when he opted to take his t-shirt off for the staredown. Fury has now revealed that he went topless in the ring as he was ready to fight Paul then and there.
“I basically got in there and took my shirt off because I was ready to have it then. If he would have wanted to have a fighter there and then. He knew what he was messing with when I did that, when I was in that ring I was ready to have it there and then with his whole team but he wasn’t interested," Fury told Queensbury Promotions.

"You get fighters and then you get us, me and the rest of my family are not like ordinary fighters. We don’t shout and talk, if you want to fight no problem. We’ll have it with anybody in this entire world, we will never shy away from a fight. Never been scared of one man, flesh and blood, in our entire lives and that’s the message I sent out to him."
Fury has pulled out of two previous meetings against Paul, the first in December 2021 due to injury and illness with visa issues also cancelling their rescheduled fight last August. The Brit has labelled Paul a "joker" and predicts the YouTuber-turned-boxer's career will be over after their fight next weekend.
“You’re in my ring, you’re in my city, you’re in my country and you’ll bow down to me, this is my ring. That’s basically what I showed him there and when we came face-to-face I was shocked because he couldn’t look at my in the eyes. I seen right through him," Fury added.
"This guy doesn’t want to fight. I’ve seen fighters time and time again in the gym, coming in and going out. This guy is a joker and pretender and I know that because I looked into his eyes and the eyes never lie Chico. I believe the more he tries to be a professional boxer, the worse it gets for him. If he didn't have 20 million subscribers, we wouldn't be in this scenario."
