Tommy Fleetwood's son goes viral for what happened at Masters 2022 Par 3 contest

While Tiger Woods has dominated the headlines during Masters week, it was a four-year-old who grabbed the majority of the attention on Wednesday. Southport's Tommy Fleetwood brought his son, Franklin, as a caddie on the course.

Franklin sported a full caddie outfit as he sprinted down the course after his father’s ball - whilst switching his hat from forward to backward intermittently. Although it was not the first time he had done it, the crowd gave him a huge round of applause throughout the day.

On one hole, Fleetwood Sr landed a shot on to the green and Franklin went full steam ahead - sprinting all the way to the green with the hundreds in attendance cheering him on as he looked around in amazement and continued his run.

His four-year-old lungs held up well, as he sprinted to the ball quickly before waiting for his dad to get to the green himself.

The Masters at Augusta National begins today (Thursday), with fans looking forward to the opening major of 2022 and a new host of stars looking to make a name for themselves.

The field will be competing for a prize fund of just over $2 million and with the famous Green Jacket on offer it is set to be a thrilling start to a year of majors. British and Irish contenders will once again be headed up by world number nine Rory McIlroy, who despite recent major heartache, remains a contender having played consistently well on the PGA Tour in recent years.

Fleetwood, who is a 50/1 shot, tees off at 3:42pm BST in the first round on Thursday.
