Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito made an appearance at a New Jersey restaurant Tuesday after reports swirled that the event was canceled over a dispute about his appearance fee.
It was reported Sunday that DeVito’s fee increased from $10,000 to $20,000 after New York defeated the Packers in Week 14, which was well beyond the budget at Coniglio’s Pizzeria and Bakery in Morristown, N.J.
But DeVito showed up to the appearance Tuesday on his own. Sports business reporter Darren Rovell says the quarterback did it for free.
Class Act: Giants QB Tommy DeVito showed up on his own this afternoon and unpaid to Coniglios, the pizza shop that originally had scheduled an appearance.

DeVito chatted with restaurant staff, made old fashioned sodas and ate pizza while at the restaurant. Football fans applauded DeVito for handling the situation with class.

DeVito is coming off a rough outing in the Giants’ 24–6 loss to the Saints, throwing for 177 yards on 20-of-34 passing. New York will visit the slumping Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Christmas Day.
