Tom Tugendhat or Jeremy Hunt are the frontrunners for next Tory leader after Boris Johnson stepped down, according to a poll of readers of The Independent.

Twenty-four per cent of readers voted for Tugendhat, the MP for Tonbridge and Malling, with former health secretary Mr Hunt coming a close second, with 22 per cent of the vote.
